At Lowdham station, I came across a young thrush which had alighted on a small snail - and made sure it winkled the meat out by persistently smashing the snail against concrete until the shell cracked. It worked - and as you can see, the young thrush got its snack. I'd never such such a performance before - and fledgling or otherwise, this thrush knew its business.
