Back in 2002, the World Today - a daily programme of which I was then editor on the BBC World Service - broadcast a series of short items entitled: 'what's your favourite political song?' We asked BBC correspondents who were interviewing big name figures to ask one additional question: what's your favourite political song?
From Colin Powell to Mikhail Gorbachev, Bob Geldof to Nandita Das, we got some great responses. I've recently come across the audio of those items and I am posting it all here. Also here, those listeners' choices broadcast on the programme. There's a much longer list of listener nominations here.
