Tony Cliff (1917-2000) was born Ygael Gluckstein in Palestine. He took the name Tony Cliff after moving to Britain when aged about 30 and became one of the leading figures in the Trotskyist movement, He was the commanding figure in the Socialist Review Group and then in the International Socialists which in 1977 became the Socialist Workers Party.
In this interview with Daniel Lak recorded in 1992, Cliff talks about his family roots in Palestine and his personal political journey.
